Since the harvest of 2009 European law now states that only wine made in a precisely defined area can be called Prosecco and any other wines, though they be made of the same grape, Glera CANNOT . With their traditionally early harvest the Glera grapes are distinctively round, with a yellow to green tinge and acidulous and perfumed flavour.
