Stylish Living

1) Neutral bases with pops of colour

A neutral space with soft furnishings will take the lead in rooms while bright colours should be  limited to the accessories and touches throughout the room .
Grey’s , beiges, whites and creams are on the of the list for paint colours for 2013.Yellow would be one of those colours popular for the popping factor !

2) Statement Light Fittings

Sculptured light fittings with bold geometric designs over kitchen counters and dining tables or even as focal points in a lounge are a huge trend in 2013 . . . go big or go home !

3) Inspired by nature

There are many fabrics with insect and botanical prints on them available too to re-upholster furniture that needs some rejuvenation.

If you looking for something to dress your walls why not buy yourself a botanical print that can be framed in a beautiful brass or gold frame which will give you a timeless piece of art that will bring the freshness of the outdoors in.

4) Zigzags, stripes, geometrics

Angles and graphic patterns are BIG especially in wallpaper and fabrics.

5) True Blue

Think Santorini!

Works well on fabrics against a neutral background.

6) Bamboo Flooring

Non -traditional woods like maple or cherry are something one should stay clear of . . . oak, birch, walnut and bamboo are the new norms in cabinetry as well as flooring so take note to keep those surfaces that show the natural grains visible and help bring the rustic look of the outdoors into the modern home.
